Governor McMaster press conference on Friday June 26th touched on businesses that remain closed including nightclubs, concert venues, theaters, auditoriums and spectator sports. The governor said he has no plans to lift restrictions imposed on those businesses until the infection rate goes down. Moreover, he does not to be forced to close businesses again.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP PREVENT THE SHUTDOWN OF RESTAURANTS?

Adhere to all statewide and local operating restrictions, including social distancing requirements and capacity restrictions;

If not already required in your region, consider self-imposing required masks for employees and guests until they are seated;

DO NOT allow guests waiting for tables to congregate and pack your restaurant: consider taking their number and texting them when their table is ready; and

Follow all sanitization and health standards and guidelines when you learn of exposure to COVID-19.

Communicate your policies to your customer base by putting detailed procedures on your website and reiterate them on social media. This will help them understand their responsibility when dining at your restaurant.

 These are serious times. Please consider these as minimum standards. We are all in this together; our industry must do our part to control the spread of COVID-19!
