Eggs Up Grill under the leadership of CEO Ricky Richardson provided top-notch support to help franchisees navigate the effects of COVID-19. At the height of the dining restrictions and shutdowns, Ricky led biweekly conference calls with franchisees, along with pausing royalties and suspending marketing fees, systemwide. Ricky put in place the brand’s new safety standards as well as initiated promotional programs that were lucrative for the restaurants, not to mention fun to promote to guests, such as four all-new, bacon-based dishes.
Ricky also led the implementation of third-party delivery, online ordering and menu innovations, which allowed franchise partners to realize sales growth that positions the brand for continued success. Due to the success of the changes adopted and the unique appeal of Eggs Up Grill, franchisees are back to 95 percent of pre-COVID sales levels. With the benefit of technology enhancements, sharp rises in off-premise sales and the introduction of adult beverages, almost a third of restaurants are experiencing positive sales growth, a number increasing every quarter moving forward. These, and many other enhancements, put current and future franchisees in a position to see their business grow in the era of a new normal.
Ricky spearheaded the development efforts of the brand, leading Eggs Up Grill to a record year of growth with 9 additional locations in 2020. 2020 was a record-breaking year for Eggs Up Grill in terms of new restaurant openings, and 2021 will see the brand grow even more rapidly with 12-15 new restaurant openings and the addition of three new states – Tennessee, Alabama and Virginia.
