DirecTV Will Continue to Stream Sunday Ticket to Restaurants & Bars

DirecTV and EverPass just announced a multiyear deal that will allow DirecTV for Business to continue streaming Sunday Ticket to restaurants, bars, and other businesses. DirecTV for Business will continue to offer other games as well through NFL RedZone, ESPN+, MLB Extra Innings, NBA League Pass, MLS Season Pass, and more.

What does this mean for South Carolina? This is fantastic news for the thousands of restaurants, sports bars, and hospitality venues across South Carolina that depend on DirecTV to stream major sporting events that drive foot traffic and guest engagement.
Without this agreement, local businesses were facing a difficult choice: skip offering NFL Sunday Ticket altogether or spend up to $40,000 on new equipment that might not even be reliable across every market - all while having to pay for additional streaming subscriptions to cover other sports.

This is the power of advocacy: When it became clear that DirecTV for Business was at risk of losing distribution rights for Sunday Ticket, the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (SCRLA) - alongside the National Restaurant Association (NRA) and state partners across the country - stepped up to advocate for our hospitality operators.

Together, state associations and industry leaders took action:
  • Elevated Your Voice on Capitol Hill: We ensured lawmakers in Washington heard directly from venue owners about the financial burden and technical hurdles this change would cause.
  • Activated Grassroots Representation: Members across the country and right here in South Carolina reached out to federal representatives to highlight how loss of access would damage local businesses.
Thanks to this unified industry front, EverPass worked out a deal with DirecTV to preserve the seamless streaming access that restaurants and bars rely on every week.
What’s Next?
While full operational details of the agreement are still being finalized, we will share updates with SCRLA members as soon as additional information becomes available.

In the meantime, let’s celebrate this major victory! In a challenging economic climate, this outcome serves as a tangible reminder of what we can achieve when our industry stands together.
