On Friday, Gov. Henry McMaster announced the lifting restrictions on restaurants, and will allow restaurants to open outside dining as long as measures to prevent the spread of the virus are implemented beginning Monday, May 4. Indoor dining and the reopening of personal care businesses will be addressed later. The governor also lifted of the stay at home order; working from home will be optional.

On behalf of our hospitality industry, the SCRLA wants to strongly commend the Governor for the announcements he made today with respect to the safe, gradual and phased in approach we as a state will take regarding restaurant re-openings.  We are also extremely grateful for the fact that his disciplined, safe approach is largely industry-driven and incorporates guidelines and regulations from all appropriate agencies and businesses.   We look forward to participate in – and carefully monitor – this reopening phase as the determination is made as to when the time is right to begin offering dine-in experiences.

Restaurants reopening recommendations and guidelines are posted on our website at https://www.scrla.org/page/COVID_19
