South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Foundation

The SCRLF is dedicated to empowering individuals within the South Carolina hospitality and tourism industry. We achieve this through a multifaceted approach that includes comprehensive education and training programs, valuable industry resources, and vital support services including emergency, crisis, and disaster grant programs. Our core value lies in cultivating a highly skilled and knowledgeable workforce that drives a thriving and sustainable hospitality sector. Ultimately, our purpose is to elevate the South Carolina hospitality experience for both industry professionals and guests by fostering continuous improvement, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.

The SCRLF was founded in 1999 by an innovative and forward thinking group of hospitality professionals as to promote the health and prosperity of the foodservice and lodging industries by investing in our youth and workforce.

The SCRLF is a charitable, not-for-profit IRS recognized 501(c)3 organization registered with the South Carolina Secretary of State and is the charitable affiliate of the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association.  

South Carolina ProStart

ProStart® is a nationwide, two-year high school program that unites the classroom and industry to develop the best and brightest talent into tomorrow’s hospitality leaders. There are currently 55 ProStart schools across the state, providing culinary and restaurant management curriculum.
